Frequently Asked Questions
Are Credit Checks required?
- There are no credit checks required, but we do require photo proof of ID and proof of ownership or lease agreement for the property the Container will be delivered to.
- We require proof of payment, with the billing address matching either the delivery address or another verified address.
Where can my Rent-to-Own Container be delivered?
- Prior to approval, we will verify that the container's delivery address matches the ownership of the property. If you are renting or leasing the property, we will need to verify a copy of your lease agreement and/or receive landlord authorization for having the Container delivered and stored on the property.
- At this time, our Rent-to-Own containers are currently only available in Washington State. If you are outside of Washington State, please ask your local Service rep to confirm the options for Rent-to-Own.
- The Rent-to-Own Shipping Container cannot be moved on-site or off-site without prior written permission by Get Simple Box
What size and type of Container can be used for Rent-to-Own?
- Only New (one-trip) 20-foot Containers are available for Rent-to-Own at this time
- Modified Shipping Containers are not eligible, and no future modifications (vents, lights, paint, etc.) may be applied without prior written approval.
How long is the Rent-to-Own term on a Shipping Container?
The length of our term is 36 monthly installments.
What do I do if I want to move or modify my Rent-to-Own Container?
Simply arrange for us to move the container or pay out the remaining installments and you are free to move it yourself.
Containers cannot be modified until paid in full.
What is the interest rate on Rent-to-Own Containers?
An interest rate is not used in rent to own. The Container is delivered on a month-to-month rental agreement; provided all payments have been made in full and on time, you become the owner of the container after the 36-month Rent-to-Own period is up.
Is there a penalty for early payment?
There is no penalty for prepayment of our Rent-to-Own Shipping Containers. In fact, should you decide to pay it off early we offer an early pay-off discount of 30% off of any remaining installments.
What if I change my mind?
We understand that plans change from time to time. If you decide that you no longer have a need for the Container, simply contact us to end the Rental and schedule an empty pickup. Provided all monthly payments have been made and the container has not been damaged in any way, there are no penalties for ending the Rent-to-Own contract and the only additional fee you will pay is for return delivery. The container is considered a rental until final payment and there are no credits or refunds should the customer return it early.
