Lynde 500 Push Cart Race

The Lynde 500 is a family friendly event that takes place in beautiful downtown Lynden every Labor Day. The races begin at 11:00am and usually wrap up around 2:30 or 3pm.

Here’s a short video that gives a look at the Lynde 500 course and shows an epic comeback by Team Simple Box:

In case you missed it, here’s how the Lynde’ 500 works: Teams of 3 (two pushers and one driver) take turns pushing a decorated push cart around a curvy course on Lynden’s historic Front street. The course also includes a Simple Box “tunnel” (a 20 foot container with cargo-doors on each end) that stands as the backdrop and primary obstacle for the event. Once again this year Simple Box is one of the main sponsors of the event, we also provide a 20 foot double-door shipping container that is transformed into the “tunnel-of-doom,” and we’ll have our own team of Simple Box racers competing for the top prize!

The race is great entertainment, fast-paced action, and funny commentary by museum director Troy Lugenbill, plus there is always lots of free food!
