DElivery Site Preparations

Before delivery, make sure your site is clear and accessible. Remove any low-hanging branches or wires and ensure the ground is level and firm. If you won’t be present during delivery, you can mark the desired placement with a cone, chair, or another visible item. This helps our drivers place your container exactly where you want it.

DElivery Foundations

Our containers are best placed on level, stable surfaces like gravel, asphalt, or concrete. While a foundation isn’t required, a solid base helps with ventilation and longevity. If you’re unsure whether your site is suitable, we’re happy to provide guidance or assess your location.

DElivery Methods

We deliver using tilt bed trailers or crane equipped trucks, allowing for precise placement even in tight spaces. Our team handles the entire process, no third parties involved, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience from start to finish.

On-site storage offers secure, flexible storage at our location, with various sizes and easy rental terms. Professional delivery is included, providing a convenient and cost-effective solution for moving, business, and job site storage.
What is On-Site Storage?

Mini storage is a secure on-site storage option available at our convenient locations. Instead of hauling your items to a distant self-storage facility, you can keep them safe and accessible in one of our steel storage containers—right on our property. Each mini storage unit provides 160 square feet and over 1,280 cubic feet of space, ideal for furniture, business supplies, or seasonal storage. Our on-site storage containers feature wide cargo doors for easy loading, a built-in lockbox for your padlock (you keep the key), and a rubber door gasket to help protect against dust, moisture, and pests. Mini storage at our place means simple, secure storage—without the hassle.

On-Site Storage Container Features

We offer a range of storage container sizes to fit your on-site storage needs:

  • Small (10 ft): Perfect for tight spaces, personal storage, or minimal business use.

  • Medium (20 ft): Great for residential moves, home projects, or small business inventory.

  • Large (40 ft): Ideal for commercial use, job sites, or warehouse overflow.

Every container is made of heavy duty steel and built to withstand the elements, keeping your items secure and dry. Standard features include lockboxes, reinforced doors, and ventilation to reduce condensation and prevent mold.

How On-Site Storage Works

We make storage simple.

  1. Choose the container size that works best for you.
  2. Contact us for a delivery. We will deliver it to your location. You can load it at your own pace.
  3. When you’re finished loading it, just let us know and we’ll pick it up and relocate it to our yard. No need to leave your home or office.
  4. Access your container any time Mon-Fri 8:00am-4:00pm or by appointment after hours with your own key.
On-Site Storage Rental Terms

Container rentals are month-to-month, with a one-month minimum. Monthly rent starts on the day you get the Container and automatically renews each month on that date. To make sure you are not responsible for an additional month of rent, we ask that you give us a 10-day heads up when you plan to vacate the Box.

NOTE: we are not able to pro-rate Monthly rent.

Mini Storage Security

Although they are highly-visible, not all of our locations are 24/7 monitored or gated yards. We do walk the yard weekly and many of our boxes are stacked or parked door-to-door for extra security.
Although we may have some security camera footage, this is for monitoring our own office and parking area, not monitoring individual units.
Please use the Lockbox! Our customers never have an issue when they use this convenient security feature.

Accessing On-Site Storage

We want you to be able to easily access your on-site storage. We just need 48 hours advance notice and we’ll make sure we get it down for you (we’ll call/text you to let you know that it’s ready).
You can use this service up to 2 times per month without fee ($25/mo. service charge for additional access).

NOTE: at this time in SALEM and MARYSVILLE we are not able to provide access to Boxes stored on-site, but we can deliver it to another location for you.

On-Site Storage vs. Traditional Self-Storage

Convenience: With on-site storage, you can load the container at your home or business at your own pace, then have it stored securely at our facility. This means no repeated trips back and forth to a self-storage unit. While some containers may be stacked at our location for space efficiency, just give us 48 hours’ notice and we’ll bring it down for you to access.

Value: On-site storage containers typically provide more space at a lower cost, with monthly rates often 25–50% less than traditional mini storage. You get a durable, full-size steel container with more room for your money.

Security & Simplicity: While traditional storage facilities may offer gated access, our on-site storage uses strategic placement (stacked or door-to-door), regular yard checks, and built-in lockboxes for added protection. It’s a secure, straightforward storage solution that saves time and money.

Rent to Own

A rent-to-own program for containers allows customers to make affordable monthly payments over 24 months, with no credit check required, and the option to own the container outright once all payments are made, providing a flexible alternative to renting or buying.

We understand that plans change from time to time. If you decide that you no longer have a need for the Container, simply contact us to end the Rental and schedule an empty pickup. Provided all monthly payments have been made and the container has not been damaged in any way, there are no penalties for ending the Rent-to-Own contract and the only additional fee you will pay is for return delivery. The container is considered a rental until final payment and there are no credits or refunds should the customer return it early.

How Quickly Can You Deliver?

We’d love at least 3 days notice for delivery or pickup of your Box. All Delivery appointments are based on availability in the schedule, so it is best to call with as much notice as possible to ensure your desired dates are available. We always need a window of two days or day-slots to work with. Appointments made under two business days are considered expedited and may be subject to a $50 expedited fee.

Is it ok to have my box delivered on the street?

Our preference is to always deliver a Simple Box onto private property when possible. Occasionally, at the request of a customer, we will deliver a Simple Box along a City street or lane for a very short period of time. Whenever it may be necessary to deliver a Simple Box in a public area or street, it is the responsibility of the Renter to obtain a permit from the applicable City or Government.

When will my driver arrive?

You don’t need to be there for the delivery or pick-up as long as the delivery area is clear and we have a good idea of where you’d like the Box to be placed (some people leave a cone, lawn-chair, or brightly painted rock where they would like the doors to be placed). Your Dispatcher will give you a call or text the afternoon before your delivery is scheduled and your Driver will call or text when they are on their way to your place.

How much does it cost to rent a 20 ft shipping container?

As of September 2024, rental prices for 20 ft containers range from $119 to $199 per month, depending on your location. We can often meet or beat local container rental prices, so contact us for information about our competitive pricing.

Do you charge a surcharge for credit card payments?

No, Get Simple Box® does not charge a 3% surcharge for credit card payments like many of our competitors do. That amount can really add up over time, so we aim to keep things simple and fair for our customers.

How is your billing cycle different from competitors?

When you rent a container with Get Simple Box®, you get a full month of use. Most competitors use a 28-day billing cycle, which means customers end up paying for an extra month each year. Our month-to-month rentals offer better value and transparency without sneaky extra charges.

Do you offer short-term rentals?

Yes, we offer flexible, month-to-month rental options with no long-term contract required. You can rent Get Simple Box® containers for as long as needed, whether for a short-term project or long-term storage. We have 10ft containers for rent, 20ft container for rent and 40ft containers for rent, reach out for more information!

What is the difference between residential and contractor pricing?

Residential customers may receive cleaner, newer shipping containers, while contractor pricing often reflects discounted rates for older, more rugged containers used on construction sites.

Is there anything I cannot or should not pack in the Box?

Do not store hazardous, explosive, or flammable materials in the Container Box (such as propane tanks or gas jugs). Gasoline should also be drained from any equipment placed in the container.

How is my lock protected?

Our rental container Boxes come with a steel lock-box welded or bolted onto the outside of the cargo doors. The lock-box conceals your padlock and protects it from tampering. You provide your own padlock and keep the key (we sell a Master Lock 6850 that fits perfectly). If you’re buying a container, we can install a lock-box for you.

Do I need to be present for delivery?

There is no need to wait around for us or to take time off work!

  1. You do not need to be there for the delivery or pick-up as long as the delivery area is clear and we have a good idea of where you’d like the Box to be placed. 

Some people leave a cone, lawn-chair, or brightly painted rock where they would like the doors to be placed). 

How Do I Lock the Portable Storage Container?

Each container comes equipped with a lockbox for added security. Simply insert your heavy-duty padlock, and the lockbox will protect it from tampering. We offer a perfect padlock for our containers, and our drivers can bring it with them when they deliver the container.

What Is the Weight Capacity for a 20-foot Container?

The average weight of goods from a 3-bedroom home is around 6,500 lbs. We allow up to 9,000 lbs for free, with an overweight fee of $75 per 1,000 lbs, up to a maximum of 12,000 lbs. Our trucks, forklifts, and bridges all have government-enforced weight limits.

Can I Move My Rented Container Myself on the Property?

No, our rental agreements do not allow customers to move containers themselves. Moving containers requires specialized equipment to ensure they are transported safely and without damage.

Can the Container Go on Any Surface?

Shipping Containers can be placed on asphalt, concrete, or gravel surfaces. If placing it on grass or a soft surface, we recommend using blocks or dunnage to elevate the container and promote airflow underneath.

How does Rent to Own work?

Get Simple Box’s Rent to Own program allows you to rent a shipping container with the option to own it at the end of the rental term. It’s a flexible, affordable alternative to purchasing a container outright.
