Moving Your Shipping Container

At Get Simple Box, our goal is to make the moving process stress-free from start to finish. We value our customers and are here to help when it is time to move your Simple Box shipping container. This blog will provide clarity to our customers and ensure consistency between our delivery team and our service team. This blog will outline what we offer, how we offer container moving, and the general process of moving your container.

It is important to note, however, that the process might be adjusted because every situation is different. The process serves more as guidelines and a general overview of how we move containers.

What is the Process of Moving Your Container?

This is where we move a customer-owned container. We can move 20ft loaded (up to 9,000 pounds in added weight), but 40ft containers need to be empty upon arrival.

How it Works:

The first step is to reach out to a service member. After that, our next step is to
determine these factors; the size of the box, if it’s loaded, and the location details.
After all this information is provided, our team can provide pricing to you. One thing that must be noted is the max size Get Simple Box moves is 40ft containers, and that p
ricing for all boxes varies because the price is determined by distance.

What You Need for Container Moving:

  1. A 40ft container needs 140 ft of a straight line of solid ground. A 20 ft container needs 65 ft of a straight line of solid ground.
  2. Both containers need 14 ft Height clearance and 12 ft for gates.
  3.  A 40ft container needs to be empty, but a 20ft container can be loaded up to 9,000 pounds.

*If you want the container to be placed on non-solid ground (gravel or grass), the customer is liable for getting the truck out if the truck gets stuck. The area needs to be clear of branches and debris. Any added attachments need to be removed, or the customer is liable for the attachments added on.

Trucking Questions:

  1. What is the complete size of the truck and trailer combined? Do they need a forklift to move it?

The total length of the 40ft truck is 68 ft long. We do not offer a forklift to move it, as our trucks are the ones that move your container. Because of this, you need to have the space requirements for us to move your container by laying it flat off of a tilt-bed truck.

  2. Does Get Simple Box offer a side-by-side?

We do not, we only use our truck.

  3.  If a customer does not have solid ground, what is the minimum requirement?

If the ground is not solid, the minimal requirement is gravel. This ensures our trucks do not get stuck while making the move.

  4.  Is the truck like a pickup or a semi-truck?

The truck is a tilt-bed truck, (glorified towing truck). This is the size of a semi-truck.
