A new 20’ shipping container provides 160 ft sq square of storage space. Our new 20’ containers are 8’ tall and 6’ wide on the outside. This results in an interior height of 7’8”. 20ft containers are often called one-trip or single-use because they’ve made one trip across the ocean.
They typically come in tan or gray and feature a built-in lockbox for added security, air vents, and forklift pockets to make moving them around easy. You can expect your shipping container to be rust-free and have minimal (if any) dings or dents.
Each shipping container comes equipped with thick rubber door gaskets, which help keep the container free of wind, water, and rodents.
The majority of our 20-foot containers come with standard cargo doors; some containers feature roll-up doors or cargo doors on both ends.
The Simple Box modification team can also add roll-up doors, lights, etc. to any of our 20ft. containers. The interior of our 20’ shipping containers are painted light gray or tan and the floor is made of thick plywood or eco-friendly bamboo.

A used 20’ shipping container also provides 160 ft sq square of storage space. Our used 20’ containers are 8’ tall and 6’ wide on the outside. This results in an interior height of 7’8”. Used 20-foot shipping containers are anywhere from 8-15 year’s old. They’ve had a good life in the shipping industry and are ready to be repurposed for non-cargo uses. However, these containers are still completely wind and water-tight and could still be used to shipped overseas if needed.
Simple Box’s used 20’ shipping containers can come in a variety of colors, including dark red, dark blue, dark green and occasionally orange or brown. Our expert modification team can modify your used 20’ container by adding a lockbox, custom paint, doors, windows, electrical outlets, overhead lights, or anything else to make your used 20-foot shipping container even more useful.
